SAPSysteme, Anwendungen und Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung or Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing - the first thing they teach you when starting and the last thing you need to remember. A very large German software company that very few people of heard of IRL. Used by many large and medium (but rarely small) companies to run their sales, production, purchasing, warehouse, logistics, HR, and accounting operations.
IRLIn Real Life. Something that I try to ignore. Most of the time.
DTDigital Transformation - a catchall term used by many to justify (often unnecessary) overspends on IT projects. Said overspends can then lead to further digital transformation (often the middle digit) in the target user base. Not to be confused with Delerium Tremens (the Belgian beer) or the DTs, which you may experience after drinking a few too many.
AIArtificial Intelligence something that is definitely aritificial and occasionally appears intelligent.
AGIAritifcial General Intelligence a variant of AI that comes with one, two, three or four stars.t
SNAFUSituation Normal All F****ed Up - I thought this came first from the Vietnam War until, yet again, I looked it up and found out that I was wrong again. Apparently originated by American GIs in World War II. I can't comment further other than to continue to be amazed at what and how that generation did what they did
FUBARF****d Up Beyond All Recognition. Etymologically similar to SNAFU although now finds it's way into many, many coding examples when broken into two variables 'foo' and 'bar'.
